On the road that leads to Palorto near school

(A. Petrucci)
Man from antiquity to the present day, constantly, pomegranate has used to embellish the environment around buildings for food and medicinal lockerroom plants. In Albania farmed in the front of the house: in yards, at the main entrance, foot stone walls surrounding a beautiful view on. Along with pomegranate, there grow various flowers, roses and a quince or peach. Their crowns, was on ovorojet [1] high places of the earth planted rose from 0.5 to 1 m. Surrounding walls filled with manure and mud. This way the beautification of homes, which create the impression of a plant or paradise, Babylonian gardens, encountered in all Lunxhërinë and other villages of the district of Gjirokastra, even within the city, which of course adds even more beauty and values his museum.
On the road that leads to Palorto near school "Asim Zeneli", was a house, which not only cultivate these plants along the fence of the house but also in concrete balcony terrace. The plants planted in barrels or in places surrounded by bricks filled with manure lockerroom and mud. Tourists passing on this road, to visit the home of dictator, stood surprised by the appearance of many flowers and fruits, make a host fired with their photographic apparatus, considering it one of the rare wonders of this city. Agim Shehu poet proclaims:
This tradition is earlier. Turkish traveler, Evliya Çelebi (1611-1684), in his journey in November 1670, Gjirokastra surprised writes about those years:
"Down Town, on Varos is the largest bazaar Memi Bey, built recently. Consists of 150 modern houses with steep roofs, surrounded and decorated in an original way with trees and vines. ... ". [2]
In villages, still preserved and has been renewed this tradition. Above all in this unique decor, pomegranate stands as a fragile plant, lovely eternal. The leaves, flowers and fruits of her quite beautiful, herbal create a more attractive environment, from pravera until the eve of winter. My friend Mihal Polo a family living in New Jersey of USA, the longing for home, described so characteristic of qytetëzës lunxhiote environment:
Pomegranate and cultivated in gardens around the village for food. From childhood I remember in kindergarten we had away from home, among other plants lockerroom had 4-5 and pomegranate lockerroom from which unemployment insurance over 1 kv. production. These were watching for 2-3 months. A part of këputnim lockerroom varrnim branches and on the walls of the house, the Chamber of friends, we call 'chambers'. " They would put in sergjenet breakaway around Odai or couch, and place the pomegranates on the open cans of food to the fore.
So, pomegranates not only decorated the outside environment but adorned houses and chambers within them. Rarely sold the ndodhete that, as we could not because the market was far had other competitors, but we ate them often do evenings and gifts relatives, friends and children. When sëmureshim flu or cold, parents jepnim of us drank pomegranate juice. So more or less doing and continue this tradition even today all the other families of the village.
There were three types of pomegranates that were cultivated in the village. Large grain pomegranate peel and pomegranate red blood small grain with the husk red discolored. Large grain pomegranates were sweet, lockerroom but they were small grain majoshe. There is another kind of sweet but large grain, bark color was slightly lockerroom red tail and white to green or white, we called these "Pomegranate Lunxhi". Lunxhëria has types of pomegranates "large grain" qualitatively good. Villages near the town of Gjirokastra, traditionally sold in rural markets, with the exception of a period lockerroom when the market closed dictatorship. Lunxhëria and all Drinos Valley has good conditions for their cultivation, have been cultivated for thousands of years in these parts. Now the production of pomegranates become a good source of income for farmers lockerroom because, lockerroom opened new markets to no end, and consequently demands are great.
In Culture of Peoples During its history of thousands of years, the pomegranate has been a symbol of hope, peace, prosperity and abundance, to residents of any part of the world where it is where
