Today (17-2-2010) I continued to work on the implementation of the mkhomedir module. Apparently my configuration changes from yesterday right on one detail: the order. the configuration for mkhomedir should be implemented as soon as possible when the log file is invoked when a user logging.
This ensures walk in wardrobe that users can log in, and that their home directory is available. Whenever an on user but now log in with an account from the LDAP server, I received walk in wardrobe an error message, which is that the user does not know who he was. In other words, the user could own uid and user ... not read.
This appeared to be because the /etc/nsswitch.conf file was only readable by root. As a result, when the user is logged in, he can not read this file, and as herein defined walk in wardrobe the settings for connecting to the LDAP server could not retrieve the user data from the LDAP server. Once the rights were modified, users were able to seamlessly login to the Linux test machines.
