Peter and the Dragon (original title Pete's Dragon) is an American musical film from 1977, produced by Walt Disney Productions. The film combines live aciton images with animation, and is also the first Disney movie is recorded in Dolby Stereo sound.

The story of the film is based on a never-published short story by Seton I. Miller and SS Field. Disney bought the rights to this story in the 50s with the plan to use it for an episode of the Wonderful World of Disney.
